Let's see if I can identify all: English thyme, variegated lemon thyme, and a bay leaf. Am I missing anything? That variegated lemon thyme--if that is what I'm looking at--is one of my favorite smells. When I'm in the garden, I want to stick my face in that plant and just leave it there for an hour or so.
As always, you talented woman, a beautiful picture!
Christina, you're right on all counts. Well done! I do the same, sticking my whole face into the bed of thyme plants. So does the dog as she follows me around the garden...such a deeply herbal scent.
Lovely photo - I love the detail of the knife marks on the chopping board. I am impressed christina could guess the herbs - I had wondered - I have a few herbs in a pot but keep forgetting what they are - not my strong point! But I do love the idea of a bouquet garni.
Beautiful. You are so good. Miss Eagle is a lazy bones and just chops or plucks the herbs straight into the pot. If you come to eat at my place, Lucy, I will try to be good and do better with a bouquet garni. You are an example to us all.
Bugger, Johanna! Mine is a shrub more than a tree, potted and moved around to catch the sun. Best thing about it is that it never seems to need any attention (or water for that matter). No wonder it's lasted longer than any other plant.

Hi rage and love, thanks.
Minestrone, a sultry winter soup. With fresh herbs, I don't know what I am missing, but the brew is wafting through my window 10,000 miles away.
They are such bundles of flavour and aroma. Ahhhh
This is a gorgeous photo, Lucy. The colors, the lighting, and the placement are perfect.

Susan, if I could somehow get a little container of it in the post...but the boys ate it. Chunks of celeriac and all.
Cynthia, fresh bay leaves have completely changed my cooking. They make (almost) everything taste richer and fuller.
Thanks Susan, I was happy with this one. Sometimes the light breaks through just at the right moment.
Johanna, love, gotta get yourself a little bay tree! Bloody marvellous for veg cooking. Thanks.

Blessings and bliss
What a lovely photo!
lucy - I would love a bay tree - but my backyard is a small concrete area and my gardening skills are non-existent - I can only dream...
